 Here we are now in December.  Been a month since I last updated this.  Been a rough few weeks and it's not getting easier but it is moving.  Been tired and wore down.

Wow.  I can't believe I let the day pass without acknowledging what October 5th was.  October 5th was my Grandmother's 97 birthday.  It's been over a year since she left us but she is always in my mind.
Been having a rough few weeks myself and trying to make it through. 
Will keep this up more now that I'm back.  Gotta do some serious updating.

Aug 20th - A visit

August 21, 2012
After I got back home on the 13th, I'd been waiting to start my new job with plans to go see The Z my first weekend.  I was able to leave earlier on the 17th and surprised him.  It was so good to see him and get to spend some quality time with him too.  We went to Six Flags on Saturday and had a great time there.  Even though it was crowded, we got the Flash Pass and walked to the front of the line on every ride.  It was nice and reduced the waiting time by a ton.  He had a great time and rod...

Aug 12th - Happy Birthday and Welcome Back!!!

Happy Birthday Mr. Bill!  Also welcome back to the United States.  It's been a long 21 months, from the date I left, 7 countries visited and numerous attacks endured but I am still standing and I am back on US soil.  Even though it's Indianapolis, I am in the United States.  I will be home tomorrow and start new things.  I look forward the the challenges ahead.

Aug 10th - Goodbye Kuwait

It is now just about time to bid farewell to Kuwait.  It has been so hot and also windy on top of it and I am more than ready to be leaving.  I have one real night left here and then will be states bound.  I am excited and so happy to be completing this experience on a positive note.  I have fulfilled my obligations and am ready to start the next phase.  So thanks for having me here in lovely Kuwait but I must be going.

Aug 6th - Goodbye Iraq

August 6, 2012
It is done!  After spending the past year in Iraq, I have left the country for good.  I am currently in Kuwait awaiting my next journey back to the states.  It wasn't easy getting out of Iraq.  Had weather issues, aircraft issues and then a loss of power in the Air Traffic Controller Tower and then quiet hours.  Finally got wheels up around 6:30 pm and landed in Kuwait around 8:15 pm.  Did all the signing in, moving my luggage and gear and had my first taste of Subway in a year.  I'll tell ya...
