September 11, 2014
Well today is a rough day and not that it's September 11th.  It's for a personal reason.  Yesterday, my mother blacked out and fell.  In the fall she fractured her neck and roughed up her face to include a 14 stitch gash in her forehead.  It was rough to see her the way she was in the hospital.  However, I'm glad I came back when i did because her and my father are going to need a lot of help over the next few months.  Keeping the positive thoughts and vibes going out to her.

Sep 5th - Last night in Germany

September 5, 2014
Well, here we are.  My last night in Germany and my last post from Germany.  It's been a long 3 months but it's also been a very good time.  I have to say that I took full advantage of this opportunity in ways of exploring, traveling and making a name for myself.  There were times it was hard work but there were also times there was easy work and the weekends more than made up for it.

I've gone to 4 other countries outside of Germany.  Switzerland, where I visited Zurich and a few other town...

Sep 1st - Awesome weekend and hello September

September 1, 2014
The BBP welcomes you to September.  Amazing how fast August flew by and now we're here.  In less than a week, the BBP tour of Europe will be coming to an end.  While I am sad to a degree, I am also certainly very happy to get back home.  Got things to do and it's also coming up to my favorite time of the year so lots of stuff is happening.

Onto this past weekend.  WOW!!!!  That's all I can say at this time.  I went to Austria and spent a couple of days in an area known as Hintertux.  This has ...

August 27th - Work? What's that?

August 27, 2014
What do they mean I have work to do today?  I swear, what am I?  A machine?  I've only had not much to do for the past month and been going to places like Prague, Europa Park, castle exploring and other things.  How am I supposed to find time to work while I'm busy with other things?

Actually it's nice to have some things to do again as it's been very frustrating doing trivial work and busy jobs.  Got a few more days of actual work left and I will be on my way home.  YAY!!!

Anyways, heading...

August 23rd - Europa Park 2

August 24, 2014
Well, well.  Seems I can't stay away from Europa Park.  It really is a very cool and well themed park and it's easy to find things to do that I missed on my first visit.  However, this visit, I took my leisurely time and found the attractions and rides I missed the first visit a little over a month ago.

I did manage to video their poor attempts to copy Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion and I'll be adding those to the site.  I do have to say as well, ...

August 17th - The Castle

August 18, 2014
Well, after numerous attempts and being thwarted each time, I finally made it to the castle that inspired Walt Disney to build his castles in his theme parks, primarily Sleeping Beauty's Castle but you can also see it in Cinderella's Castle as well.  I have to say, after seeing it in person, I can see why it inspired Walt because this is an inspirational castle.  It took me a couple of hours to get to it and even a few attempts as mentioned before but it was worth it all.  I had to hike up a ...

August 12th - Happy Birthday

Aug 10th - More Prague

August 10, 2014
What a totally incredible weekend.  I know I'll probably use that word a few other times to describe my trip but it's impossible not to use it so often.  The city itself is an amazing metropolis of history and modern combined.  There are buildings that are centuries old and some that are relatively newer.  I walked on The Charles Bridge, toured The Prague Castle, was lucky to catch the changing of the guard there as well, visited The Old Town Center and so much more.  It was a trip that meant...

August 8th - Prague

August 8, 2014
So here we are...Prague.  Somewhere I've been wanting to go for many years and I am finally here.  It looks so amazing as well.  I can't wait to start exploring tomorrow and see all the history there is here.  I can't believe I'm actually here.  I spent over half my military career training to fight a war against these people and now I'm visiting.  Awesome!!

Also had a very cool day the other day where I spoke to an old friend I hadn't in many years. Also had a BLT that was righteous.

Until p...

August 2nd - Castle ruins

August 3, 2014
So while I was planning on visiting the castle that inspired Walt Disney to build his castles, I overslept and decided on going somewhere more local and closer to where I was.  That choice turned out to be the Ruins of Hohenurach Castle.  I have to say, I saw the castle standing on top of a mountain and knew I had to climb up there to get to it.  While at first the mountain didn't look too tall, I learned how steep it got in some places.  I hiked for probably 5 miles or more but after climbin...
